KTE operates five truck mounted direct push rigs. The 7800 is our newest rig and is equipped with the GH62 hammer. The 6600 rigs are equipped with the GH60 hammers. The Geoprobe GH60 hammers are best for deeper sampling and/or dense soil conditions. Typically the Geoprobe 7800 & 6600 rigs can sample to 50-60 ft in normally consolidated soils. These rigs also are used for CPT sounding in tighter areas where our 30-ton CPT rigs can't access.
KTE operates two smaller Geoprobe 5400 series models which have covered carriers on a standard F350 pickup. These rigs use a Geoprobe GH40 hammer. Typically these rigs can sample up to 40 ft in normally consolidated soils. These 5400 rigs are often used for shallower sampling and tighter access areas such as maintenance bays.
